28th September: Our Journey in Printing, Talk by Mark and Judy Buckley-Sharp

Many thanks to Mark and Judy for launching our return to face-to-face meetings at the club with their “Journey in Printing”, from dark room days to the advances in digital print production.  Using examples from their extensive personal print library they demonstrated how times, techniques and styles have changed over the years – from coloured mounts chosen to complement the image to the now commonplace (shades of) white to give cohesion; trials and tribulations of dark room colour printing, to paper choice and print profiles, to RGB vs Srgb colour space.  A thoroughly fascinating, informative and timely talk as we begin to produce our own prints for the coming competitions.

It is so good to be able to meet at the club where every effort is being made to make us as risk-free as possible.

Once again, thanks to Mark and Judy for such an enjoyable evening.  Thanks to our  team who ensure our protocols are followed before and after the meeting and to everyone who came along to support the evening despite torrential rain and petrol shortages!
