Very many thanks to Paul for his sympathetic and helpful commentary, to everyone who entered and came along to view.  All the entries are available to view on Facebook.

Next week we look forward to hosting the Ron Wake Interclub Trophy and greeting members from the competing clubs – our first opportunity to welcome them to our new home!

In the meantime, have a good week.

Saturday 16th September: Mayor of Brent’s Wellness and Fun Day

We had the pleasure of attending this lively event held at Century. A fun day for parents and children, with a shot at bowling, thorough health checks and if you were lucky, sitting in the cab of a fire engine or police car (no handcuffs!). Whilst it was primarily the Mayor’s event we were delighted to be given space to set up a small print display and have the opportunity to talk with  Madam Mayor, Cllr Orleen Hylton, Dr John Licorish, Deputy Director of Public Health,  other health and well-being professionals and some keen photographers.  We are looking forward to attending similar events across the borough, forging the relationship and growing membership.

Grateful thanks to the Century team and Cllr Hylton.

Smiling with Cllr. Hylton, Mark Buckley-Sharp and Avril Candler (by Judy Buckley-Sharp).

11th September: Members’ Face to Face Meeting

This week heralded our first time in our new venue.  It was an ‘orientation’  meeting where our plans were put into practice;   logistics and timing of the set-up, storage, equipment testing and most importantly making the coffee!  We are very fortunate to have the luxury of space, access to an commercial equipped kitchen, ‘facilities’ and soft chairs!

We look forward to greeting competing club members on the 25th September for the Ron Wake Trophy print competition.

Before that,  next week (the 18th) is the first of our projected image competitions, the specialist section is Nature and  the Open section is anything else.  This will be a Zoom meeting and the competition is being judged by Daan Olivier FRPS EFIAP.

In the meantime, have a good week.

P.S. Century Bowling & Sports Club is hosting the Mayor of Brent’s Wellness day this Saturday, 16th,  from 11am to 4.00pm and members of our club will be there too, so if you’re wondering what a photography club is all about, do pop in for a chat.
