15th January: Talk – A Passion for Nature by Ann Miles MPAGB FRPS

Huge thanks to Ann Miles, Cambridge Camera Club, for her inspiring and magical talk about her Passion for Nature.  It is hard to find words to describe the evening which was so full of technical and practical information illustrated with her wonderful natural history and pictorial images.  It was a superlative evening and we felt privileged to be able to see and hear about Ann’s dedication to her work.

Please take a look at her website via the link below to understand the breadth and depth of Ann’s lifelong passion for nature.

Once again, thanks to Ann for an enchanting evening.

Next week we are back down to earth at Century for our Landscape and Open Print competitions which will be judged by Chris Drury LRPS from St. Albans Camera Club.

In the meantime keep warm!

8th January: Workshop – Discussion/Advice Session led by Mark Buckley-Sharp ARPS(Hon) CPAGB HonPAGB

We welcomed  the New Year and new members to Harrow Camera Club at Century with a thoroughly enjoyable and informative evening.

We had a short induction talk by Mark into our photography club world before concentrating on an open  discussion of people’s potential entries for upcoming external exhibitions.

Frank and honest feedback in a safe environment is a great way to inspire and improve our own photography.

Many thanks to everyone who showed their work and special thanks to Mark for leading us through the evening.

Next week we are hosting a talk over Zoom – A Passion for Nature by Ann Miles MPAGB FRPS

Have a good week and stay warm!

11th December: 3rd Round NWFed Inter-Club Competition, judged by Amanda Wright

We welcomed guests from Leighton Buzzard and Croxley camera clubs for this third round match which was judged by Amanda Wright.  Despite festive mince pies, we failed to make it through to the semi-final stage although happily we will be represented in the individual ‘Starred’ prints and projected competitions on Finals day.

No sour grapes just many congratulations  to Croxley who do go through to the semis and commiserations to Leighton Buzzard who just missed out in their debut in the NWFed competition.

Many thanks to everyone who came along and of course special thanks to Amanda for her helpful critiques.

We are taking a break and return on 8th January at Century for a workshop which will be led by Mark Buckley-Sharp.

In the meantime we wish everyone a joyous Christmas and a happy, healthy and peaceful 2024.

See you in the New Year!
