22nd November: Open and Portrait & People Projected Image Competitions judged by Paul Hendley LRPS CPAGB
Many thanks to Paul for judging our two competitions last night. It was a bumper task with almost seventy images which Paul managed admirably giving every image a considered and helpful critique.
Open: First place went to Avril Candler for ‘Emperor Tamarin in Steamy Clime’ ; Dave Martin’s ‘Raindrops on Tulip’ was second and ‘The Platform Bond Street’ by Trevor Alexander was third. Highly Commended were Trevor’s ‘ Canary Wharf Reflected’ and ‘Look Up’ by Peter Polkinghorne; Peter’s ‘Hazel Catkin’ and Dave’s ‘Snakeshead Fritillary 2 ‘ were Commended. Congratulations to them all.
Portrait & People: First place went to Judith Gimber for “The Bookworms Frugal Muse”, second was Judith’s ‘God Rest The Queen’ and Sanjay Mistry’s ‘Brenden’ third. Highly Commended were awarded to Judith for ‘Laying Down The Law’ and ‘Scottish Fashionista’ and Peter Keeble for ‘He Stoppeth One of Three’ and Alan Colegrave for ‘One Wet Wetneck’. Three Commended awards went to YC Wei for ‘Backstage’ and to Avril for ‘Mariana’ and ‘Tree Feller’. Congratulations all.
Once again many thanks to Paul and to everyone who entered the competitions – so many images nearly made the cut in both competitions and all the images will be on view in our Facebook page. Thanks too to everyone who supported the evening.
Next week we have a Members’ Evening on the subject of ‘Photographing Strangers’ – it promises to be an interesting and thought-provoking session.
