24th March: Open and Set Subject Print Competitions, judged by Michael Lurie
Many thanks to Michael Lurie for his discursive commentaries and the post-competitions’ discussions.
In the Open section congratulations to Mark Buckley-Sharp for his winning print ‘Three Cultures in Sand’ and his third placed ‘Decayed from Folkstone’; Judy Buckley-Sharp’s ‘Mannequins’ took second place and she was also commended for ‘Stuttgart Lights – Porche’. Peter Polkinghorne’s ‘ Let Me Through’ was highly commended and his ‘Florence on the Arno’ commended.
This year’s set subject was ‘Movement’ and the trophy was won by YC Wei with ‘Towards Big Ben’ and his ‘Travelling Towards the Light, commended. Judy’s ‘Dervish Whirling’ was second and Sanjay Mistry’s ‘ Spirited Away’ third. Avril Candler’s ‘Crush Hour’ was commended.
