4th December: Projected Open & Triptych Competitions judged by Caroline Colegate ARPS APAGB
Many thanks to Caroline Colegate, Bracknell Camera Club, for her considered and inciteful critiques across both sets of images.
The Open competition was won by Judith Gimber with ‘Lighting-up Time’ and her ‘Posturing Puffins’ were third; Dave Martin’s ‘Mycena Fungi 2’ was second. Highly commended were ‘Letters Only’ and ‘The Shelter’ by John Draper. YC Wei’s ‘A View From the First Floor’ and Peter Keeble’s ‘Groyne Detail, Pevensey Bay’ were commended. Congratulations all.
This week’s specialist subject was Triptych and, with an array of subject matter and interpretation, Caroline’s erudite commentaries were much appreciated. First place honours go to YC Wei for his strong monochrome triptych called ‘Stairs’; Avril Candler’s ‘Parenthood’ was second and Judith Gimber’s ‘Peacock Triptych’ third. Sanjay Mistry’s ‘Friends’ was highly commended and YC’s ‘Sightings of Pokemon’ and Mark Buckley-Sharp’s ‘Cryptych’ were commended. Congratulations all.
Many thanks again to everyone who entered and came along to support the evening and special thanks to Caroline for making the evening so enjoyable.
Next week we return to base at Century for an interclub NW Federation print and projected competition. We look forward to welcoming the competing clubs’ members and visitors.
In the meantime, do take a look at Facebook for all tonight’s images.
Keep warm and have a good week.
