16th May: Talk – Black and White Portraiture by Eileen McCausland LRPS LIPF AIPF
Last night we were treated to a wonderfully enjoyable talk by Eileen. She is so enthusiastic, honest and generous as she describes her approach to portraiture – the importance of engagement between photographer and sitter whether in studios or not and of course the importance of light. Eileen’s portraits, taken with window light, are beautiful and when in the studio, makes sure she directs the model to produce emotional and engaging photographs. Along the way we were given lots of technical and editing tips making for a very informative and helpful evening.
Many thanks to Eileen for an interesting and inspiring evening much appreciated by all.
Next week we are in Hatch End for our annual Panel of Prints competition, plus an Open Print competition, both of which will be judged by Lloyd Moore from Watford Camera Club.
In the meantime enjoy the Spring sunshine (!).
