21st September: An Evening of Poetry and Image Fusion led by Peter Keeble

A few weeks ago ten poets and ten photographers agreed to take part in this unusual challenge – poets to write poems inspired by images: photographers to produce images inspired by poems.

Last night we enjoyed hearing the poets read their intriguing, thought-provoking poems whilst viewing the corresponding images.   Not only was it a listening and visually delightful evening, the discussions between each poet and photographer as we went through was so informative.  We came to the conclusion that perhaps the photographers had had the harder task – producing an image to reflect a poem is more difficult than writing a poem to a visual prompt!

So many thanks go to Peter whose idea this was, to his fellow poets for their brilliant words and to our photographers who definitely rose to the challenge and let their imaginations fly.
